BC Ambulance Service (BCAS) paramedics in Revelstoke are looking forward to settling into a new home base this fall, when they will move into their new $1.4 million dollar station. Located on the corner of Oscar and Edwards streets, the permanent facility includes crew quarters (consisting of a common room with kitchenette, bathrooms, bedrooms and Unit Chief office) and an enclosed ambulance bay.
The purchase of the property from the City of Revelstoke was completed in March 2008 following a public hearing at which attendees were supportive of the land-use designation and zoning change. Site construction began in May 2010 and crews can expect to be in their new station this fall.
“I’m pleased that paramedics in Revelstoke will have a new and improved station from which to respond to emergency calls,” said BCAS Chief Operating Officer Les Fisher. “I would like to thank the crew for their ongoing patience while work is underway.”
