BCEHS’ Omega project highlighted at BC conference

Our success in improving the transfer of appropriate Omega calls to HealthLink BC Nursing Services will be foremally recognized this week with a provincial award and presented in a breakout session to be broadcast via the internet.

You can be part of the conversation by watching the BC Quality Forum 2018, which is being live streamed on Facebook. The BCEHS presentation on the project to increase the number of appropriate, low-acuity Omega calls transferred to Healthlink BC is scheduled for presentation Friday, Feb. 23 at 1:30 p.m. PT.

During the “Because Where We Care Matters” breakout session, Jessica Jaiven, BCEHS Director of Quality, Patient Safety and Accreditation and Corinne Begg, Manager, Continuous Improvement, BCEHS Dispatch Operations, will share how using a quality improvement and change management approach increased the availability of ambulances to respond to higher acuity patients.

The BC Patient Safety and Quality Council forum began Wednesday and continues through late Friday afternoon.
