The data will continue to be hosted in Canada, in the same secure internal server regardless of where employee logs in to the system.
The anticipated timelines for paperless-only pay advice are:
- March 29, 2018: External (home and remote) access to online pay will be available.
- June 22, 2018: Last pay date when paper pay advice will be mailed to homes. No paper pay advices will be printed or mailed after June 22, 2018.
- July 6, 2018: Pay advices will only be available online from this pay date going forward (Note: paper pay advices will be mailed ONLY in exceptional circumstances, such as for an employee without network access e.g. employees who have left BCEHS).
There are many benefits to online pay advices. Consider the following:
- Easy and convenient access: log in to check your pay advice from work, home and anywhere in Canada or the continental United States.
- Immediate delivery: view your pay advice sooner online than waiting to receive a paper copy in the mail.
- Flexibility in printing and storing pay advices: print your pay advices when necessary. Save or print a paper copy of your pay advice easily as a PDF document.
- Keep your personal information secure: an online system offers greater security of personal information, allowing you to view your own pay advices securely. PHSA meets all existing industry security standards to safeguard the privacy and security of your personal and payroll information. This includes password protection, encryption, and firewalls.
- Easy access to previous pay advices: this year access online pay advices back to 2010, if available, with greater ease. Afterwards, online pay advices will be available for the last seven full years.
- Reduce paper, go green: PHSA is working to reduce paper consumption as part of its commitment to reduce carbon emissions and the amount of paper we use. Switching to online pay advice is one initiative that will contribute towards meeting that goal.
