BCAS Confirms Two Members Killed in Accident

BCAS today confirmed that two part-time, Tofino paramedics have died in a single-vehicle accident involving an ambulance.

BC Ambulance Service (BCAS) today confirmed that two part-time paramedics based in the Tofino ambulance station have died as a result of a single-vehicle accident involving an ambulance on highway 4 (Pacific Rim Highway) between Tofino and Port Alberni. No patient was on board the ambulance at the time of the accident.

“I would like to extend my deepest condolences and sympathy to the families, friends and colleagues of the two paramedics who spent their lives helping others,” said Health Services Minister Kevin Falcon. “Safety of our paramedics is paramount. We have launched an investigation into the circumstances and no stone will be left unturned.”
