Whereas Pink Shirt Day 2018 focuses on raising awareness in preventing and stopping cyber bullying, this campaign reinforces the PHSA commitment and accountability in maintaining a safe and respectful work environment.

Respect, compassion and partnerships are at the core of PHSA values. And, as demonstrated by recent campaigns like #MeToo and #TimesUp, everyone must take ownership of their actions around inappropriate behaviour in the workplace.

Starting Feb. 28, here are several ways you can help raise awareness and support a culture of safety and respect wherever you work. Show your support by:

  • Wearing Pink on Feb. 28. Join others across the country and stand up against bullying. Show your support by wearing anything pink. This includes the pink BCEHS epaulettes and can also be pink shirts, pink bow ties, pink shoe laces - anything pink goes!
  • Respectful workplace sticker. These colourful stickers will be available across PHSA as a reminder to yourself and others to create and maintain a safe and respectful workspace. The stickers will be available by donation. Throw in your loonies and toonies to raise funds for the CKNW Kids' Fund's Pink Shirt Day Fund and the Women's Legal Education and Action Fund.
  • Helping promote the campaign. Download and print these posters to display in your work area or add the #NotInOurWorkspace graphic to your e-mail signature.
  • Joining the conversation. Join the conversation on Twitter by sharing how you're helping to create safe and respectful workplace. Use the hashtag #NotInOurWorkspace and tag @BC_EHS so your post can be shared.
  • Being kind. Brighten up someone's day with a note of appreciation. Use Kudos Corner on POD to compliment or recognize a colleague for a job well done.
