Upcoming Open House Events

Come on by to one or more of our Open Houses listed below! No appointment is needed – this is an opportunity to meet with our team who will share their experiences working at BCEHS and guide you through the hiring process. BCEHS careers include Emergency Call Takers, Emergency Medical Dispatchers, Primary Care Paramedics, and more. Ask your questions and get all the answers from our dedicated staff.

 Hiring Events | Highway 20 Communities | May 29 – June 22 

Join BC Emergency Health Services at a hiring event in your local area, as we travel across the stretch of Highway 20 from Bella Coola to Williams Lake. Throughout the summer, BCEHS is hosting “Hiring Day” on Fridays from 8am to 4pm, at Station 288 in Surrey. No appointment is needed – this is an opportunity to meet with team members who are on site specifically to talk about working with BCEHS and the hiring process. Victoria-area emergency health professionals (and those preparing for a career as paramedic or emergency medical dispatcher)! BCEHS is hosting a "Hiring Day" at Station 140. Cranbrook Career & Post-Secondary Education Event | 11 am - 3 pm | Sept 8, 2022

Location: Cranbrook History Centre - 57 Van Horne Street South, Cranbrook, BC

The BC Emergency Health Services team will be at the FREE Cranbrook Career & Post-Secondary Education Event on September 8! Team members Blake Kendon – District Manager, Patient Care Delivery and Blake Elford – Unit Chief, Patient Care Delivery will both be at the BCEHS booth and available to answer questions about BCEHS careers.

We’ll be on site from 11am-3pm, come by and say “hi” and learn about career paths, specific roles like emergency call taker, emergency medical dispatcher, and primary care paramedic, and what it takes to work with BC Emergency Health Services.


Paramedicine Across Canada Expo | Sept 8 - Sept 10

Location: Saskatoon Prairieland Park Trade and Convention Centre, 503 Ruth Street, Saskatoon, SK S7K 4E4 

Headed to PACE – Paramedicine Across Canada Expo – in Saskatoon this week? BC Emergency Health Services team members will be on site with current hiring information to join our team in British Columbia!

Visit our booth in Hall B, staffed by people who work in the field: Andrew Billing, Patient Care Delivery (PCD) Manager; Kelly Lalani, Dispatch Supervisor; Gurpreet Johal, Primary Care Paramedicc (PCP); and Rhiannon Anderson, Indigenous Talent Acquisition Coordinator.

BCEHS teams work throughout the province, from the urban cores of Vancouver and Surrey, to small-town communities in the north and interior, to rural and remote lands that rely on air transport services to get patients into care. Career paths are varied, including the first step of Emergency Call Takers, and are all so important in supporting the health of the people of B.C.

BC Emergency Health Services Hiring Fair in Kamloops | 11 am – 5 pm | Sept 24

Location: BCEHS Regional Office – parking lot, 1257 Dalhousie Street, Kamloops BC V2C 5Z5

BC Emergency Health Services invites you to our Kamloops Open House! Come and visit us on Saturday, September 24, anytime between 11am and 5pm. Our team members are looking forward to meeting you, sharing job information, and answering your questions about emergency health services hiring and jobs. And, grab some lunch at the food truck on site for the day!

Come by and learn about career paths – specific roles like emergency medical call taker (EMCT), emergency medical dispatcher (EMD), primary care paramedic (PCP) – and what it takes to work with BC Emergency Health Services. Information booths will be available with job information. Paramedics and Dispatchers will be at the Open House, and can answer the big questions as well as tell you all the smallest details.

BCEHS is actively recruiting street PCPs and EMCTs/EMDs for our Kamloops station. Both positions include paid training (in Kamloops), and compensation/benefits including a great pension plan, full health/dental benefits, and competitive wages. EMCTs and EMDs have opportunities for full-time, "4 on, 6 off" schedules and paid vacation.

BCEHS team member Jana Hargreaves – Manager, Patient Care Delivery for the North Central District will be at the BCEHS booth from 11am-3pm. WorkBC Hiring Fair | 12 pm - 4 pm | Mar 16, 2023

Location: Ecole Ballenas Secondary School (gymnasium), 135 Pym St, Parksville

BCEHS will be on site at the upcoming WorkBC Hiring Fair in Parksville. Our team members will be at the BCEHS booth from 12 to 4pm on Thursday, March 16, and available to provide information and answer questions about working with BCEHS.
