Ambulance response information requests

BC Emergency Health Services receives more than 1,700 calls each day through its three dispatch centres in British Columbia.

To help us locate and confirm a specific incident, please provide:

  • Time: Date and approximate time or time range
  • Location: Municipality, plus the address or nearest cross streets
  • Incident type: For example, a motor vehicle incident or fire response

When you contact media@bcehs.ca, include all of the above information. To respect the time of operational staff who assist with these requests, we may not investigate requests that do not include the minimum required information and may not respond to them.

Privacy and patient information

Privacy legislation prevents BCEHS from releasing patient information, including:
  • Identifying details such as age or sex
  • Information about injuries or medical conditions
BCEHS also cannot provide updates on patients after admission to hospital because they are no longer in BCEHS care.

Fatalities

BCEHS does not provide information about fatalities. For information about fatalities, contact the appropriate law enforcement agency, the BC Coroners Service, or another relevant public safety agency.
