Community Paramedic

Join the BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS) as a community paramedic and become part of a highly skilled workforce that helps save lives.
You are an emergency health professional who is self-motivated to support health care delivery in BC through the able provision of primary and urgent care interventions. You enjoy working closely with patients to support their health needs, including health counselling and patient-focused education.

Working as a Community Paramedic is ideal for career-focused people interested in becoming part of the fast-paced world of emergency medical response, engaging with the local community members to support proactive and preventative health initiatives, and looking for a career that can take them anywhere in the province.

Community Paramedics are equipped with the knowledge, skills and abilities to intervene in life-threatening injuries and perform pre-hospital emergency care. In addition to working with the local health teams as a patient-focused resource, Community Paramedicine also allows paramedics to apply their skills and education in a variety of community-based settings to identify and address other local community needs.
