To acknowledge the work of paramedics we invited our staff to show their appreciation with a barrage of thank-you notes to be shared at each of the nearly 200 ambulance stations across the province. 

The thank-you notes remind us of the daily dedication, courage and selflessness paramedics bring to work every day to care for others.

During the week, we celebrate paramedics and acknowledge how they make us feel. Here are some of those feelings:

Inspired: “Thank you for helping others. It truly inspires me each and every day!”

Grateful: “Whenever I see or hear the sound of an ambulance, I feel gratitude and am truly proud to be part of something bigger than myself!”

Motivated: “It’s difficult to comprehend all that they see, hear and feel. They are shockingly humble for what they do. Because of them, and our dispatchers, I am motivated in my work every single day.”

Proud: “You folks keep the spirit and professionalism of BCEHS alive! You do not go unnoticed and I just wanted to reach out and share how extremely proud and supportive I am of every one of you.”

In awe: “I am in awe of their level of knowledge, skill, commitment and compassion. I go to sleep soundly in the knowledge that dedicated paramedics are working 24/7 to serve the people of British Columbia.”

One BCEHS director succinctly sums up what paramedics do: “As you continue in your service within BCEHS I hope you reflect on how you have turned people’s fears into hope and have altered the outcomes of the worst days of their lives.”
