To qualify for a primary care paramedics (PCP) position with BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS), you must have the following licences and certificates:
- A valid primary care paramedic licence issued by the Emergency Medical Licensing Board
- A Class 1, 2 or 4 BC driver's licence, or an out-of-province equivalent (or the ability to obtain one within 6 months of your start date)
- A current driver's abstract that shows a safe driving record
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- A valid work permit for Canada, or the ability to obtain one
- Be 19 years of age or older
- Be able to work a variety of shifts, as required
- Show strong mental resiliency and maturity, and work well in fast-paced, changing environments
