Recruitment Ride-along Program

Experience a day in the life of a paramedic.
Are you considering a career with BCEHS? Explore the dynamic world of emergency health services through our Recruitment Ride-along Program.

What to expect during a ride-along

The BCEHS Recruitment Ride-along Program gives you the opportunity to shadow a paramedic team as they respond to a variety of emergency calls. You'll see firsthand the fast-paced environment, critical decision-making, and compassionate care that define the profession.

As an observer, you'll have a unique opportunity to watch paramedics at work. While you won't provide patient care, you'll gain valuable insights into BCEHS protocols, procedures, and communication practices.

Safety and privacy during your ride-along

During your observation shift, you may witness people experiencing some of the most difficult and vulnerable moments of their lives. We ask all participants to respect patient privacy and confidentiality at all times.

Your safety is important to us. During the application process, our team will review safety protocols and guidelines with you to help ensure a safe learning experience.

On some calls, you may need to stay in the ambulance while paramedics attend to a patient. This standard safety measure helps protect everyone involved, including you.
