The BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS) Communications Department is the main point of contact for media inquiries.

​​The Communications Department provides public statements and may share information about BCEHS responses to significant events anywhere in British Columbia.​​

Protecting patient privacy

BCEHS follows the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. Because of privacy requirements, the Communications Department can only share limited information with the media.

BCEHS cannot release:
  • Information that would identify a patient
  • Details about the circumstances that let to a patient's illness or injury
