The BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS) Communications Department is the main point of contact for media inquiries.
The Communications Department provides public statements and may share information about BCEHS responses to significant events anywhere in British Columbia.
BCEHS follows the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act. Because of privacy requirements, the Communications Department can only share limited information with the media.
BCEHS cannot release:
- Information that would identify a patient
- Details about the circumstances that let to a patient's illness or injury
Protecting the privacy of patients is our highest priority.
The Communications Department works to respond to media requests as quickly as possible.
Contacting the Communications Department directly helps ensure your inquiry is directed to the appropriate BCEHS representative and answered in a timely manner.
Media representatives can also contact the Communications Department to request high-resolution versions of images featured on BCEHS's
Instagram feed.
